Je trouve l'engouement pour ce sujet très important et intéressant. Il démontre que les gens peuvent se sentir investi d'un rôle clé dans la société et sont capables de la changer.
The popularity for this subject is important and interesting. It shows that people can be moved to feel invested of a key role in society and that they can have an impact on it
Mais, pourquoi autant d'engouement pour ce sujet autant qu'un autre ? Est parce que les fondateurs ont réussi à faire leur pub ou parce que ça touche des enfants et qu'il est difficile de critiquer une cause qui cherche à protéger des enfants ? En choisissant de combattre une personne précise et non une guerre ou la situation de tous les enfants en Afrique par exemple, le réalisateur fait le choix de se battre parce qu'il a été touché par l'histoire d'UN enfant...mais les autres ? ceux qui meurent de faim tout simplement ?
Le clip est simplifie largement la situation mais à le mérite d'être efficace.
But why so much interested on this subject more than any other? Is it because of the large scale internet coverage it is getting and that it's difficult to criticize a cause that's goal is to protect children? By choosing to fight one specific person and not a war or all of Africans children, the producer makes it obvious that he has been moved by ONE kid...but about the others? Those that simply die of hunger?
The video over simplifies the situation but it works.
Je ne dis pas que ce n'est pas une cause noble, et honnêtement le fait que l'association dépense beaucoup de fonds pour autre chose que leur travail sur le terrain ne guère surprenant. Mais elle est tellement ciblée qu'elle me laisse perplexe. Ce clip a été vu par des milliers de personnes et a reçu le soutient de nombreuse célébrités comme George Clooney, Rihana, Justin Bieber et Oprah Winfrey. Si on arrive à faire autant de buzz pour demander l'arrestation d'un homme et le contrôle d'une arme de plusieurs centaines d'hommes, pourquoi ne pas en faire autant sur des sujets touchants bien plus de gens, ici ou ailleurs...
I'm not saying that this isn't a noble cause, and the fact that the organization doesn't spend a large amount of funds directly fighting this cause is not really surprising. But it's so precise that it leaves me questioning... This video has been seen by tons of people and has received support from many celebrities. If you can create so much buzz asking for the arrest of one man and the control of a couple hundred men, why not do the same for a much larger cause that would impact far more people, here or elsewhere...
