First day
Je me rends compte à quel point je ne suis si pas douée que ça.
I realized I'm not as good as I thought
Ca commencé par 1h de formation plutôt comique. D'abord, comme en France, on rempli plein de papiers. Ensuite QCM, je n'ai même pas penser à lire le petit livret de formation avant. Il faut dire que c'était tellement évident comme questions, genre quelqu'un tente de s'introduire dans l'appart en même temps que vous, est-ce que vous le laisser entrer ? Et les questions pour lesquelles il y avait plusieurs réponses étaient encore plus évidentes... Mais la fille qui était en 'formation' avec moi a tout lu avant, alors j'ai fait un effort et ai lu en attendant qu'elle finisse. J'ai eu tout bon !!! Waouh !
Il a fallu que je me retienne de ne pas rire à plusieurs moments, surtout quand on a voulu me montrer une vidéo sur YouTube sur comment ramasser les crottes de chien... Non mais sérieusement comment peut-on garder son calme après ça ?!
Heureusement je suis une vraie professionnelle et je sais me retenir.
It started with an one hour trainin. First, just like in France, I had to fill out a bunch of paper work. Then a multiple choice question. I didn't even think of reading the manual before answering, it was just so obvious. And when there were multiple answers possible it was even more obvious; but the girl that was training with me was reading so I made an effort and read it while I was waiting for her to finish. I scored 100%! Wow!
I had to concentrate on not laughing a bunch of times, especially when they wanted to show us a Youtube video on how to scoop dog poo... Seriously, how can you keep a serious face?
Luckily I'm a professional!
C'est après que c'est devenu compliqué. J'ai eu le droit à trois promenades pour voir comment ça se passait. A priori j'en aurai 3/4 par jour pendant les premiers temps.
It's afterwards that it became complicated. I had 3 walks to start with and I should have at least 3 or 4 at first.
Pour ma première promenade, j'ai retrouvé une fille du bureau qui m'a accompagnée. Arrivée sur place, surprise la propriétaire était là et son chien, énorme, n'a pas arrêté de me sauter dessus. Elle n'a absolument rien fait pour calmer son chien qui était plus grand que moi. J'ai eu beaucoup de mal à lui mettre son collier et c'est plutôt lui qui m'a promené, mais pas de caca ! OUF
For my first walk, I met one of the girls from the office. The owner was still in her apartment when we got there and her huge dog kept jumping on me while she did absolutely nothing, even though he is A LOT bigger then me. I had a hard time putting his collar on and he's the one that walked me, luckily no poo!!!
Pour la deuxième promenade, j'arrive à la maison, juste à côté de chez moi, dans une rue pleine de belles maisons. J'ai lu la fiche client plusieurs fois avant de rentrer et j'ai du avoir un moment de dyslexie puisque je n'ai pas tapé le bon code...en plus, persuadée que c'était ça je l'ai tapé plusieurs fois...L'alarme a retenti et la société de sécurité appelle... la honte !!! ou comment se faire remarquer ! J'ai du appeler la boite pour leur expliquer...
I was alone for my second walk. The house is right next to where I live, in one of those streets full of nice large houses. I read the client card a bunch of time before going in but I must have had a dyslexia attack because I couldn't tape in the right security code...insisting on taping it over and over...until the alarm went off and the security company called, embarrassing!!! Great way to get myself noticed on my first day since I had to call the office to let them know...
Troisième chien : j'arrive, la propriétaire est là, encore une surprise ! - mais pourquoi ces gens ont besoin d'un dog walker si ils sont chez eux ??? - alors que j'étais toute préparée à taper le code correctement. Pendant que je me présente à la dame qui m'explique où se trouve la laisse (parce qu'elle n'était pas rangée où elle était censé être)... pire que l'alarme, le chien commence à s'enfuir ! Heureusement pour moi le chien fait de l'épilepsie et a une possible tumeur, donc il n'a pas pu courir très loin. Heureusement parce que je sais pas comment j'aurai expliqué ça à la boite...
For the 3rd dog, again, the owner was there! I don't know why these people need a walker if they are at home especially since I was all ready to type in the - right - code. While the lady was explaining where the leash was (not where it says it is on the client card)...worse then setting of the alarm...the dog rain out! OMG!!! Luckily the dog is epileptic and has a possible tumor so he didn't run very far. That would have been hard to explain!
